The job was not accomplished in one day. In fact, it went on for several weeks because they worked on it only part time. But their friends would often pop in to look at the shower, impressed by the planning they had done. When the shower was finally finished, it was beautiful. They had neglected nothing in designing it for two persons. They had installed two skylights that now flooded the bathroom and shower with natural light. The room originally had two large green basin counters. However, they had had removed them and installed a more practical smaller one. The toilet could have been replaced with a smaller one, but they figured that since they had added so much room by replacing the basin and counter, they didn't need to.



Before beginning, they had made sure that the pipes that furnished water to the bathroom were at least 3/4" in diameter. Anything smaller than that would have made the dual shower impractical. With pipes smaller than 3/4", the water flow that could have been provided for one person, while another person was showering at the same time, would have been too limited. As it was, the pipes were 1", which was ideal. They had also installed separate water pressure regulators for each of the two showerheads, so that adjusting one would not affect the other.



The walls and floors of the bathroom had been covered with two by two feet pieces of beautiful Italian tile. Because they knew that all tile is made for a particular use, they made sure they used a type that was suitable: it was a no-slip tile. Of course, they had taken great care to seal the tile grout well with sealer.

The shower heads were of the rainfall drenching type, with rubbery tips so that calcium and mineral deposits could be easily cleaned away just by brushing the rubber tips. Finally, the doorway to the shower was centrally located so that there was no crowding when one person entered or left. When they were everyone loved the whole house, but especially the two person shower.
